Student Board 2024-25

Ila Allen

I am a senior at St. Francis DeSales in Columbus, Ohio. I have been a member of my school’s publication The Quill since sophomore year, and I currently serve as an editor and social media manager of our Instagram page. This is my first year serving on the OSMA board, and I am beyond honored and excited to be a part of this organization. I am involved in several activities outside of journalism including student council, NHS, French NHS, and set crew. I am the founder and president of my school’s Film Club. I do a lot of volunteer work- particularly with kids or the poor. I also work as a Café Attendant at a country club. I am the oldest of four (currently 16, 11, and 7). In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, playing video games, collecting trinkets, traveling, watching movies and tv, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to seeing what this year has in store!

Grace Callahan

I am currently a junior at Lakota East High School in Liberty Township, Ohio. This is my first year in the OSMA student board and second year on the staff of the Lakota East Spark Newsmagazine. I am currently an editor for the opinion section. My favorite part about journalism is getting to talk to so many interesting people and writing their stories. Other school clubs that I participate in are Fly Free Mental Health Awareness Club and Hawks Against Cancer. Outside of school, I play club volleyball for Cincy Classics and I love to read, hike, and play mandolin and piano. I am so excited for this next year with the OSMA Student Board!

Lilly Donabauer

I am going to be a junior at Centerburg High School this year, and this will be my second year as a staff member of our newspaper the Trojan Crier! I am looking forward to this year and becoming Editor-In-Chief, Co-Media Editor for our school’s broadcast program, and soon to be the co-host of our new podcast! I have been in Columbus Children’s Choir for six years. We performed in Carnegie Hall last summer and I am very excited to tour with them again during the summer of 2025, where we will compete and perform in Budapest, Bratislava, and Prague! I have been a part of my school’s Spanish club for two years. I enjoy baking, listening to music, crafting, and I plan to become a screenwriter, director when I’m older! I am very excited to be apart of OSMA this year, and I look forward to making new friends and helping out in any way I can!

Leah Faye

I am a current sophomore at Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. I am the Chief Focus Editor for The Viking Views, and this is my second year on staff and first year of the OSMA Student Board. Other than newspaper, I am also on staff of Hoover’s broadcast media news show, NCTV News. In school, I am involved in ASL, choir, and theater. I am also an avid member of Stark County Youth Leadership Academy and the Hugh O’Brian Leadership Program. Outside of school, I am in the Company of Ohio Conservatory of Ballet and have been dancing for 15 years. In my free time, I enjoy choreographing, reading, and cooking. I am so excited and honored to be a part of the OSMA Student Board and am looking forward to all we accomplish!

Violet Garitson

I am currently a sophomore at Walnut Hills High School, and a member of our broadcast program. This is my first year as an OSMA student rep. Besides Journalism, I am an active member of my school participating as a student council representative and engaging in our schools theatre program throughout the year. I am occasionally an actor but primarily a crew member, focusing on sound crews for the school's productions. I am very excited to work with the OSMA student board moving forward and will be putting my best foot forward!

Corbin Eaton

I am currently a sophomore at Antwerp High School in Antwerp, Ohio. I am currently the sales manager for our staff. This is my second year in journalism, and first on the OSMA Student Board. Outside of journalism, I am the Vice President of my class, I am in marching band, theatre, and on the baseball team. I am excited to get to be a part of an amazing organization. I can’t wait to see what I bring to the table for the OSMA student board.

Allie Haucke

I am a senior at Lakota East High School in Cincinnati Ohio. I am currently a feature editor for Lakota East’s publication, Spark. This is my second year on the OSMA board, and I am excited to be a part of the group! I especially love doing in-depth interviews with people and really getting to know them. Outside of journalism, I participate in a local tutoring program for underserved elementary students in the Lakota district. Additionally, I love to crochet, read, garden and cook. I am honored to serve on the board and can’t wait to see what’s to come!

Will Huelskamp

I am currently a junior at Lakota East High School in Liberty Township, Ohio. I am a news editor for the Lakota East Spark Newsmagazine. My favorite part of Spark is meeting new people, interviewing and talking to medical professionals, township developers, and people with interesting stories. My biggest interest lies in the design of our newsmagazine. Other than Spark, I took tumbling lessons when I was younger, I have played volleyball for six years, and have worked at a local pizzeria. I am the communications officer for NHS and I consistently attend student government meetings at my school. I look forward to working with the OSMA student board to better student journalism in all of Ohio.

Sophie Imhoff

I am a current junior at Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. I am the Chief Entertainment Editor for The Viking Views, and this is my second year on staff. I have been a multi-sport athlete for many years now, and I have participated in lacrosse, track, basketball, swimming, diving, and a few random activities here and there. I spend much of my free time going to the gym, working as a host, and serving my community at a local food pantry. I have many hobbies like playing guitar, painting, designing tattoos, and listening to music.

Megan Lee

I am currently a junior at William Mason High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently, I am a two-year staff writer for The Chronicle, Mason High School’s newspaper and a future managing editor. This will be my first year on the OSMA student board and I could not be more excited! Outside of Journalism I spend most of my time in the dance studio, after dancing for the past 12 years. I love to read, binge watch tv shows and movies, hangout with my loved ones, taking pictures, and go on adventures with my friends! I can not wait for this year of OSMA and I am so excited to be a part of it!

Taia Menefee

I am currently a senior at Beachwood High School in Beachwood, Ohio. I am the Co Editor-in-Chief of Beachwood’s school newspaper, The Beachcomber. This is my second year on the OSMA Student Board, and my first as Co-President of the Board. In addition to OSMA, I am also a part of the Teenage Board of the Students United News News Network. Outside of journalism, I am the Vice President of my class, president of my school’s Library and Pre Law Clubs, and a member of my school’s Minority Achievement Committee and the OH-11 Youth Advisory Council. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, and spending time with friends. I am so excited to serve on the OSMA Student Board, and I can’t wait to see all that we accomplish this year!

Kate Myaard

I am currently a sophomore at St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio. This will be my second year on my school's publication, The Quill. I am a writer and editor of this publication now for the second year. I am a state championship winning cheerleader for the Game Day competition team for DeSales. As well as being the captain of the junior varsity football and basketball squads this year. In my freshman year, I won my school's Poetry Out Loud competition, for reciting and understanding poetry of the common age. I enjoy listening to music, reading, catching up on the latest shows, spending time with my peers, and hiking outdoors. This will be my first year on the OSMA board and so excited to be a part of something great like this. I am looking forward to the amazing things that this board will accomplish this year!

Sam Patton

I am currently a junior at Solon High School in Cleveland, Ohio. I am an editor and staff writer for The SHS Courier and this is my second year as a staff member. Other than working at the Courier, I am on Solon's Mock Trial Team, President of the Red Cross Club, and a member of the United Nations. Outside of school I volunteer at a local nonprofit, spend my time listening to music, reading, and spending time with friends. I'm so excited to work with the OSMA Student Board and can't wait to see what we can accomplish this year!

Alex Schwind

I am currently a senior at Lakota East High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently, I am the culture and graphics editor for the Lakota East Spark Newsmagazine. This is my second year being on the OSMA Student Board, and first being Co-president. Other than Spark, I am the captain of East’s mock trial team, Vice President of NHS, president of Gender-Sexuality Alliance club, a recruitment officer for Letters for Rose, member of Mu Alpha Theta, and member of Knitting Club. Outside of school I enjoy drawing, reading, and writing. I am so excited to be a part of OSMA for another year and contribute to Ohio’s many journalism programs by instilling change and growth through the student board!

Gracleyn Stoller

I am currently a senior at Antwerp Local Schools. This is my second year serving on the OSMA Student Board. This is also my second year as the editor-in-chief of my school's yearbook, The Archer. In this position, I have attended many regional, state, and national conventions. I have also won many state and national awards in writing, design, and photography. Alongside yearbook, I am involved in basketball, cross country, track, Student Council, National Honor Society, and YDisciple. I am so excited to continue being on the OSMA Student Board to increase participation in student and school-based journalism!

Lyndia Zheng

I am a sophomore at Beachwood High School and this is my first year serving on the OSMA Student Board and I am extremely excited to be board secretary this year! I am layout editor for my school newspaper, the Beachcomber and am particularly interested in reporting on the political and social issues of today. Aside from journalism, I compete in Model United Nations, Speech & Debate and Science Olympiad. I’m also the executive board treasurer for student government, president of Pre-Law, captain of the varsity tennis team, leader of Greater Cleveland’s AYLUS branch, and more. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, running, and spending time with my friends and dog. I hope, together with the rest of the board, to do many great things this year to grow and lead the Ohio journalism community.
