Individual Entry Contests
Due to weather conditions throughout Ohio, the deadline for all annual contests (overall critiques and individual contest entries) has been postponed to 11:59pm on Friday, February 6.
Submission for the 2025-2026 OSMA Individual Entry Contests is now open!
Information about this year’s contests:
This year, we are moving all individual entry contests to the Better BNC contest platform. You can see the updated list of contest categories which includes substantial changes to how our categories are classified and which publications are eligible.
Note: Remember that contests are included in your annual OSMA membership. Haven’t joined yet for this year? Here’s a link to the membership information.
The deadline for all annual individual contests, as well as overall contests, is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026.
2025-26 Digital Submission Instructions
Step 1: Log into your account
Navigate to the Better BNC website and click “Contestant Login.” Select the 2025 OSMA Individual Entry Contest, then select your school from the drop down menu. (Don’t see your school? Contact [email protected] to create your account)
Login using the password “bnc” then follow the prompts to update your contact information and change your password.
Remember: each school has only one login. This means that you’ll have to share your login information with any other advisers who may be submitting entries. We recommend making your password something that is secure/unique but that also can be shared with others.
Have questions about the login process? Check out this video for a walkthrough.
Step 2: Check out the Contest Rules
Once you log in, be sure to check out the Contest Rules and Contest Instructions pages for more details about this year’s competition.
Step 3: Add entries
Click the link on the left side that says “Submit Entry” and complete the steps for each entry.
Have questions about the submission process? You can check out this video. Better BNC also has FAQ/support pages, as well as support provided via phone and support tickets during business hours.
Note: After each submission, the system will show you a “confirmation” page. You can move away from this page without saving or printing, because you’ll be able to see and manage your entries at any time.
Step 4: Manage your entries & make changes until the submission deadline
Change your mind about an entry? No problem. You can easily log in and manage your entries, including deleting an entry, adjusting a student’s name, etc, up until the contest deadline.
Step 5: Access your entry feedback once judging has been completed
Then, log back in after this year’s OSMA State Convention to check out the feedback that was provided by the judges. Awards certificates will be mailed to each school, but to reduce shipping costs, feedback will only be accessible online. Advisers will be able to download their feedback and save to a digital format.
